Pricing
How much does professional Christmas light installation cost in Metro Atlanta?
Most installations run between $650 and a few thousand dollars. The two biggest factors are the length of your roofline and the complexity of the design — a single-story ranch with a straight front costs far less than a two-story home with multiple gables and dormers. Our minimum install is $650, and pricing increases as the season fills up. Every quote includes design, installation, season-long maintenance, takedown, and storage.
Why does booking earlier cost less?
Our crews can work efficiently in October and early November, so we pass that on. Once demand peaks in the second half of November, scheduling gets tight and rates go up. Booking early also means you get your choice of install date.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. We take a 50% deposit at the time of scheduling, and the remaining 50% is due upon installation completion each year. The deposit guarantees your spot on the schedule.
Do you charge extra for takedown or storage?
No. Takedown at the end of the season and storage at our facility until next year are both included in your original price. There is no separate invoice in January.
What is included
Do I have to buy the lights?
No. We own the lights. We install them, maintain them all season, take them down, and store them at our facility until next year. You never own a box of lights or a storage problem.
What happens if a section goes dark in December?
You call us and we come out and fix it. Season-long maintenance is included in every installation, so a dark strand is our problem to solve, not yours. You never climb a ladder to troubleshoot.
How fast do you respond to a service call?
Typically within 48 hours or within the week (during peak season).
What kind of lights do you use?
Commercial-grade LED, custom-cut to your roofline. These are not the strands sold at big-box stores. They are brighter, hold up to weather, and are rated for repeated seasonal use. Every run is measured and cut so lights follow your peaks, gables, and dormers instead of sagging between them. We also ensure EVERY PEAK has a bulb centered at the peak.
Do the lights turn on and off automatically?
Yes. Your display automatically turns on and off, every night of the season. There are no timers to set, no batteries to maintain, and no switches to remember.
Do you provide the Christmas lights, or can you install lights I already own?
Blue Mountain Christmas Lights provides the commercial-grade LED lights and professional materials used in our custom displays. This allows us to create a consistent appearance, custom-cut each roofline, control product quality, and provide reliable in-season maintenance.
Store-bought lights can vary in brightness, color temperature, wire quality, and weather resistance. Using one professional lighting system helps us deliver a cleaner appearance and quickly repair or replace components if a problem occurs.
Do I own the lights after they are installed?
Blue Mountain Christmas Lights provides and maintains the lighting products used for your custom display as part of our all-inclusive service. You are not simply paying someone to hang a box of lights. Your package includes the design, commercial-grade products, installation, maintenance, removal and storage.
Your display is carefully labeled and stored so it can be efficiently reinstalled the following season. You may also change colors, expand the design or add wreaths, garland, trees, shrubs or ground lighting in future years.
Because Blue Mountain Christmas Lights owns and maintains the lights, we also own the replacement cost and repairs of all the lights. Even professional commercial-grade lights go bad over time (typically around 3yrs), one more thing you don’t have to worry about!
Scheduling and Timing
When should I schedule Christmas light installation in Atlanta?
Earlier than most people expect. Our calendar tightens sharply after mid-November, and preferred install dates go first. Homeowners who book as early as July and August get their choice of scheduling and a better rate.
When do you start and finish installing?
We begin installs in October and finish usually by the 1st week in December. We can sometimes accommodate mid-December if last minute needs arise. Crews are limited during this time, so it’s on a first come first serve basis after Thanksgiving.
When do you take the lights down?
Takedowns begin the first week of January and are completed by the end of the month, weather permitting. If you or your neighborhood HOA have a specific date they need to be down by, let us know and we will make sure they’re down by that date.
Do I need to be home for the install?
No. Most installations happen while homeowners are at work. We will need access to exterior outlets and a clear path around the house. We will let you know when we are coming and when we are finished.
Safety and Property
Will the clips damage my roof or shingles?
No. We use removable clips designed for gutters, shingles, and fascia. Nothing is stapled, nailed, or drilled. When the lights come down, there is no evidence they were ever there.
Can you install on a steep or multi-story roof?
Yes. Our crews work at height with safety-rated equipment throughout the season. Steep and multi-level rooflines are routine for us. Nationally, holiday decorating sends roughly 160 people to the emergency room every day of the season, and close to half of those are falls — which is a good argument for not doing this yourself.
What about rain and weather?
Every display runs on GFCI-protected outdoor circuits with weather-resistant in-use covers. December rain is routine in Atlanta and it finds every weak connection, so this is not an optional detail. It is the difference between lights that last the season and lights that fail on the first wet night.
Service Area and Design
What areas do you serve?
Can you match a design I found online?
Usually, yes. Bring your design and we will design around your home’s architecture to get as close as the roofline allows. We map every strand before install day, so you know what you are getting before we start.
Do you light trees and landscaping, or only the roof?
Both. Roofline lighting is the foundation on most homes, but tree wrapping, shrub lighting, pathway displays, and wreaths and garland are all available. On heavily wooded lots the tree work often does more visual work than the house itself.
Do you work with businesses and HOAs?
Yes. We install commercial displays for businesses, retail centers, office parks, and HOA common areas, scheduled around your operating hours.
